There is only so long that a business or a consumer brand can be slimmed down, re-engineered, streamlined, out-sourced or procurement reviewed. Sooner or later the removal of waste has to be replaced by the addition of value. That's where we come in. The ability to create ideas and opportunities that in turn create profits.

Douglas Broadley

Group CEO and Global Creative Director

Douglas is responsible for Imagination's global client portfolio, directing the company's media-neutral, full service offering across multiple offices. Douglas demands excellence in creative expression and execution, setting the standard that is a defining feature of our multi-disciplinary global community. He was a key member of the team that conceived and developed the tourist destination Guinness Storehouse for Diageo; he was also instrumental in the conception and implementation of the Ford Motor Company and Shell global exhibition programmes. In his spare time Douglas is a drummer and to prove this point he constantly taps under the table or at his desk.

Patrick is responsible for Imagination’s business in EMEA. 

Patrick's first role at Imagination was project managing high-profile capital raising roadshows for clients including Deutsche Telekom, China Telecom, NTT and AT&T Wireless. In 2000, Patrick moved to Asia to set up our Hong Kong office and successfully developed our presence in region, working for clients such as Bank of China, Sinopec, MTRC and China Mobile. In 2004, Patrick transferred to our New York office to work with companies such as Visa, Hyatt Hotels, MasterCard, Hertz, KKR, Prada and Virgin Mobile. In 2009, Patrick returned to London to become Global Managing Director Investor Communications and in 2011 joined the Imagination Group Board. In 2013, Patrick took on the role of CEO Imagination EMEA.

David is a member of the Imagination Group Board and is also Managing Director of our German subsidiary, Imagination GmbH.

With 20+ years’ experience of automotive marketing, David has a deep insight into the car industry and how to best apply creative communication services. He leads the agency’s single largest client area and has a range of business management, client servicing, and project management skills. David has helped grow our Ford business from its European beginnings to a Global footprint. Along the way, he has managed our Detroit office and been responsible for our business with Mazda, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Aston Martin. David is an avid music fan with a particular interest in listening to European avant-garde and nu-jazz.

A Group Board Director for over 20 years, Paul is a highly committed, instinctive entrepreneur.

Paul has led Imagination in Europe, in Asia-Pacific and in The Americas and as such has been very much responsible for the international development of Imagination, a role which has identified creative opportunities across sectors and geographies. His leadership oversees the application of Imagination’s broad skill set to best advantage for our clients’ strategic objectives, maximizing ROI and supporting the transformation of our clients’ business through creativity. Paul is very proud to lead the Global relationship with our largest and longest client, Ford Motor Company. A native of Australia, Paul began his working life in theatrical production.

Mark is responsible for the executive management of all operations across the region, as well as the expansion and growth of Imagination into new markets.

Having successfully launched the Imagination brand in Australia, Mark was appointed CEO for Asia Pacific in 2009. Since then he has been the architect of a regional expansion that has included the launching of Imagination in China, Singapore and India as well as our on-going growth in Australia, Hong Kong and Japan. In his limited free time, Mark is a keen art enthusiast, collector, theatre-goer and spa visitor.

Simon is Group COO, and Chairman of both Imagination Asia Pacific and Imagination Investor Communications.  He brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the table having been with Imagination for more than 25 years.  Simon is an experienced business leader and has played a key role in developing Imagination into the  shape it is today.  He was instrumental in the expansion of Imagination’s network in the Asia Pacific region, establishing offices in Hong Kong and Tokyo initially to support the growth of the successful IPO roadshow business; and, more recently, establishing Imagination Australia through the acquisition of Brand by Voice.   Simon was also instrumental in establishing a dedicated Investor Communications division, broadening its offer to include a comprehensive range of shareholder communication services, and expanding its geographical presence.

One of the earliest tasks that Robert undertook as a young solicitor was to act for a client called Gary Withers in the formation of a new company. Over the intervening decades, Robert has continued to advise Gary and Imagination, from private practice and, latterly, in-house. As Imagination’s company secretary and director of legal services, Robert is responsible for ensuring that the members of the Imagination group of companies comply with their statutory corporate obligations. In addition, Robert provides a broad range of legal advice. Robert is a pedantic grammarian and has never been known to inadvertently split an infinitive.

Richard is the Group Finance Director. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with PWC and subsequently worked in a number of senior finance positions in the areas of retailing, television and manufacturing. He joined Imagination in 1984 and is the second longest serving member of the Board. He has seen the turnover grow from £8 million to in excess of £160 million. Not only does Richard have overall responsibility for all financial aspects of the Group’s business, he is also involved in the strategic decision making. He has carried out a number of commercial transactions. To meet the ongoing demands of a globally based business, Richard is currently involved in the procurement and implementation of a worldwide business system.
