Supernovas 16 – 7 Imagi.nets

With a combination of age, wisdom, beauty and stamina we set off nervously to Camden town. Upon arrival we were told there were NO netball fixtures for the evening… in a blind panic the iPhones came out in attempt to locate the correct court, only to discover it was a 20 minute walk away at Mornington Crescent.

With only 10 minutes until the match was due to begin, the 7 of us sprinted the 2 miles across town, handbags in tow, determined not to miss the start of the match…safe to say we were slightly sweatier than anticipated before starting the game. Nevertheless, we ran though the gate, T-shirts came off, bras exposed, threw our bags down, bibs on just in time for the whistle!

Just our luck we were playing against the hardest team in the league, who have played together for two years…Imagi.nets have been playing together for two weeks! Once we started to find our feet we were able to pull the scores closer together, with some amazing goals from coach Bex.

When Halina took her rightful place in defence the game drew even closer, it wasn’t their ball, it wasn’t even our ball, it was her ball! Not to mention her bum found the floor on two occasions. A highlight was when Moffat managed to leap frog onto her opponents back leaving her clenched in piggy back position, feet off the floor… needless to say her opponent was less than impressed!

An amazing effort from everyone, where technique prevailed, stamina powered through. Roll on next Thursday!
