Ford is a key participant and the sole automotive sponsor at this annual event which celebrates its 60th anniversary as the “world’s greatest aviation gathering” drawing over half a million visitors and ten thousand aircraft.  Members of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association) are key influencers, technology leaders, and affluent consumers.

Ford's involvement includes sponsorship of the free opening night concert featuring legendary rocker Steve Miller and hosting the nightly free "Fly-In Theatre" movie screenings. The heart of Ford's presence at AirVenture is the Ford Hangar created by Imagination. It features current Ford and Lincoln products plus interactive technology displays as well as popular, fun activations from the global Ford auto shows like the ST driving simulator and the Laguna Seca Mustang slot car track.

This year, Ford is helping to celebrate the story of the legendary Tuskegee Airmen, featured in the recent George Lucas film, Red Tails. Ford built a one-of-a-kind Red Tails Mustang for an auction to benefit the EAA Young Eagles program and is sponsoring a special screening of the film with an appearance by George Lucas at the “Fly-In Theatre.” Inside the Ford Hangar, Imagination has created dedicated displays to tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen.

With the help of Imagination, the Ford involvement in AirVenture has delivered outstanding results year after year. Visitors to AirVenture score much higher than "ad aware" buyers on all key purchase funnel metrics measured by Ford's BEAT opinion tracking survey. Since Ford became the sole automotive sponsor of the event in 1999, EAA members have purchased almost 40,000 Ford Motor Company vehicles.
