Established in 1996 during the Web's infancy, the Webbys are presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, a 550-member body of leading Web experts, business figures, luminaries, visionaries and creative celebrities including Harvey Weinstein, David Bowie and Matt Groening. This year's awards mark the 12th Annual Webby Awards, the awards are a truly global event and received nearly 10,000 entries from over 60 countries.

"The Webby Awards honours the outstanding Websites that are setting the standards for the Internet," said David-Michel Davies, executive director of The Webby Awards. Imagination's Webby Award nomination is a testament to the skill, ingenuity, and vision of its creators.

‘Where Are the Joneses?' was created for Imagination's longstanding client Ford Motor Company and was the world's first open source branded interactive on-line sitcom. The project, which was co-produced with Steve Coogan's production company BabyCow was launched in June 2007 and ran for 12 weeks with daily episodes. With the online audience contributing to the content development of the sitcom, this nomination recognises the innovative collaboration with the online community.

As well as the Best Writing nomination ‘Where Are the Joneses?' has also been selected as an Official Honoree in the Branded Content category. The Official Honoree distinction is awarded to work that scores in the top 15% of all work entered into the awards.

Head of Digital Insight, David Bausola, who devised the project, said:

"It's great to see Where Are the Joneses? shortlisted and nominated for a Webby in this way, the community that wrote and directed the comedy need applauding more than anyone on this project. In a time where the audience is control of media production and distribution, it's only right that the industry applauds them for their genius."
