Arguably the most extensive financial press coverage of 2006 - generated by any transaction - was that for Russian oil and gas giant Rosneft, which completed the fifth largest IPO ever at $10.4bn in July of that year. That was despite market fluctuations and a degree of negative media coverage.
This extremely high-profile project commanded the full Imagination service, including a 3-minute film commissioned a matter of weeks before the launch, impressive branding for London and New York presentations and several private jets. The scale and pressure of the project was considerable; four global coordinators, a management team split between five cities, interpreters (sourced by Imagination) and the first day of investor meetings in Moscow.
We regard this as a landmark transaction for Imagination, in that it firmly established our Russian and CIS credentials. At the same time, it consolidated our global position of delivering 6 out of 10 of the largest IPOs ever.
