VISA IPO 2008

In a historic transaction, the Visa Inc. IPO raised $19.7bn, and in doing so became the largest IPO in U.S. history, beating the previous record by almost $10bn.

Imagination planned, organized and executed all aspects of the high-profile global roadshow which priced well above the offering range, despite the extremely volatile market conditions at the time.

The global roadshow consisted of three teams traveling across 3 continents visiting 10 countries and 24 cities.

We provided the following services:

Design
Our designers worked closely over many weeks with the Visa Inc. brand team to create immersive meeting environments which clearly illustrated the key competitive advantage the Visa Inc. brand gives the company. While doing so we had to ensure that we adhered to the company’s very specific brand guidelines while making the designs relevant to the institutional investor audience. Advanced lighting effects were employed to subtly convey the Visa Inc. branding platform.

A walk-in loop shown prior to each presentation was created using regional commercials from around the global to further illustrate the ubiquity of the Visa Brand. After the deal closed the Imagination team designed a full-page color advertisement in the Wall Street Journal sponsored by the bookrunners. Video footage captured on the road was developed into a memorable video of the experience for the management team and shown at the closing dinner.

Production
Produced 36 group investor meetings across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with a total of over 1,700 investors in attendance, including nearly 700 attendees at the New York lunch alone.

Project / Logistics / Travel and Roadshow desk
Managed 3 client teams, on which a total of 13 company executives and numerous bookrunner representatives traveled. The teams visited 27 cities in their nearly four weeks on the road. We arranged the daily meeting schedule, and all flights, accommodation, private aircraft hire, venues, catering and ground transportation.
